"Facing the Damage of Hidden Sin"

Pastor Selara R. Mann, Jr.

January 9, 2013

Disclosure - The intentions of this lesson is not to bring condemnation; however it is to highlight the critical negative nature of the subject at hand, so one can determine if they truly want to possess such qualities.

Sin ( N ) – any act regarded as such; a transgression especially a willful or deliberate violation of some sacred or moral principle [ Latin “sons” – definition is guilty. Greek “hamartia”- definition is missing the mark, failure, fault or error. Hebrew “ pesha” – definition to transgress against God ]
Hidden ( a ) – concealed, obscure, covert, to prevent from being seen or discovered. [ Greek “keuthein”- to conceal or hide]

Computer viruses go in and out of the public eye even as the fear of them never leaves. The potential and danger of them works much like toxic substances buried in the ground leaking slowly into a needed water supply. The ability to communicate via email and make other transactions online has arguably become as natural a need for survival in the modern world as clean water. But just as technology can be undermined by things we cannot see, hidden sin works in exactly the same manner. It sits there underneath the surface, destroying things from the inside out until our greatest needs can no longer be fulfilled due to what we hide. From the failure to take the next big promotion due to the inability to pass a simple screening, to the need for love and companionship being placed to the side due to what we cannot allow them to see, life simply stops progressing.

The key compositions of hiding sin are: lies, deceit, hypocrisy, fraud, insidiousness, deception, furtiveness, delusion, iniquity, and corruption. Look in the mirror, and we all need to ask ourselves if this is what we want to be? Join Pastor Selara R. Mann, Jr. as he examines facing the damage of hidden sin through the use of real-life scenarios and Biblical examples.
